I just did bm traditional and a 1:1, but if you want to do a MM or SV, shot rotation is going to have to change from the default.

Ok lets try this again....

A BM hunter in full tier 4 and legacy.. 1:1 rotation. I have all raid buffs (no food or pots).

With Might 787.56 dps
without 741.56

Marks hunter...

1:1 priority (Prior 1 Arcane, Prior 2 Multi)

With 758.03
Without 715.73

1:1.5 rotation (weaving Multi in with your auto and steady, i.e auto steady multi auto steady auto steady multi auto)

with 761.62
without 719.41

We're still looking at between a 5 and 6% dps loss. I think that pretty significant.

Appologies, thats not what i meant by my post. The numbers i gave were with MM spec, w/ a base number of 1024 w/o might, vs 1085 w/ might.

I ran it against surv as well, just did not post the results, as the overall results were .03% deviation.

somethings way off- your numbers for MM are higher than for BM.

Damn this thread blew up. I would like to say for the record that i prefer salv over might. The less threat i generate means more time that i get to pwn face befoer i have to hit the ground. Less FD = more dps imo.
When Blizzard created hunters they gave them twice as many ways to fuck up as any other class.

Ok, those seems like realistic results. Now pad the gear to what our hunters are producing, and lets compare the results on that. Our hunters produce around 1000-1100 dps? It would be interresting to see if might does or does not scale. My results show it not scaling.

I just realized you could load in spec/gear from the armory. I did Fervent and it was a 5.77% reduction, including pet dmg.

To include a single point on our officer discussion, we were pushing that all our hunters add FD to their rotation so that there was not a boss pull, resulting in a FD. Everytime a hunter pulls a boss, and FD's, IMO, they are making a mistake. They proved that they had FD up, and did not use it correctly.

The reason why this has come up, is because it has become a reoccuring issue, and needs to be fixed. I believe that hunters are now fixing this issue, but that doesnt stop people from making a bad guy out of someone for trying to preserve raid integrity.

FD takes no hit to your dmg.
Lose one globalcooldown every 30 sec?
"imo" dosent apply in this case.
"less fd = more dmg" is just a false statment.

I'm not trying to make a bad guy out of anyone.

I'm just playing with math. Like i said earliar.. I have mad respect for you and the decisions you make. I just think its worthwhile to pursue factual evidence. If i'm wrong i'll admit it 100%. I have no problem with that. Plus I find this stuff fun (yes i'm a nerd).

Right now i'm working on a loading in Tagaal's gear and running the numbers, then i'll do drizz's.

I thought it was talents only too, but you can do gear- its at the top of the gear page- might have to scroll over some.

As I have said before -if this is a re.issue with one or two player- /w them, get them on vent and handle it with them. Don't put in place a practice that hurts the whole class.
