Hunter Macro and Mod

Post#1 » Fri Jul 04, 2008 3:48 pm

Here is the Macro for steady/auto shot that I recommend all BM hunters to use.

/cast !Auto shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command
/cast Steady shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

I would also like all hunters to download the mod SimpleMD from wowace or curse. This allows you to broadcast your MD to the raid which helps us all keep track of who we are MDing too. So if you don't have it, go get it. I am making this a requirement for all hunters in raids.

This macro above, as with others, is best suited for a BM hunter that has an attack speed of 2.0 seconds or less. The macro above is a 1:1 Shot Rotation, which means for every steady shot fired, there is one autoshot fired. I personally use a 3:2 Rotation because my autoshot/attack speed is greater then 2.1 seconds. For Example:

3:2 Rotation

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/cast !Auto Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/cast Steady Shot
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();

I reccomend that all hunters use macros for almost all their shots, even multishot and arcane shot, so that you can always use KC without even knowing it, you set them up like this.

#showtooltip <insert spell here with no rank level>
/cast <whatever shot you put in the tooltip>
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command

This can create a problem though, you md the tank and cast and arcane shot to find that your arcane shot did hit, but your pets along for the ride too cause it critted and autocasted KC. Usually you can find your way around this if you use a specific MD Macro:

#showtooltip Misdirection
/target focus
/cast Misdirection
/targetlasttarget
/cast arcane shot <whatever rank you want>

To set a specific person as your focus target all you do is target them, type /focus target, and your done. Having a focus target really helps in Arena too when your trying to mana drain one target, and dps another.

Here's my reworked survival macros; Lealla feel free to correct them. I left Kill Command in there so it will refresh the buff that it now applies whenever possible.

When there’s no CC-

/castsequence
/castrandom Explosive Shot, Multi-Shot, Steady Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

When you don’t want to break those pesky sheep-

/castsequence
/castrandom Arcane Shot, Steady Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

And here's my best shot for MM. It's possible that Aimed Shot uses too much mana to be in a macro, but we'll have to try it and see.

When there’s no CC-

/castsequence
/castrandom Chimera Shot, Steady Shot, Arcane Shot, Aimed Shot, Multi-Shot, Kill Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

When you don’t want to break those pesky sheep-

/castsequence
/castrandom Chimera Shot, Aimed Shot, Steady Shot Arcane Shot, Kill Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
