Guide to the Argent Tournament

Taken from : http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... 6635&sid=1

The Argent Tournament has begun in the northern reaches of Icecrown! The call has gone out to all champions of every city. Come! Hone your skills against each other in honorable combat. The more participants we have, the stronger we'll be when the time comes to face the Lich King. In this place of darkness and evil, we will triumph against the forces of the undead. We will stand defiantly by holding this tournament in the lands of the Scourge. We must be alert, for while we participate in the festivites we must also stand vigiliant against those who would wish to wreak havoc on our tournament. For the Lich King will surely not stand idly by while the tournament commences.

Your deeds proceed you, adventurer. We are in need of your aid. This is the hour of our greatest need. Our troops are in the heart of the Lich King’s domain and the darkness is great. Still, it will only get darker as we lay siege to the Citadel itself. The brave souls of the Argent Crusade are weary and in much need of something to cheer for in this cheerless place. Should you choose to participate in this tournament you will surely boost the morale of the Argent Crusade and give us the courage to continue the fight with Arthas.

Getting Started
-Under Construction
--Black Knight
---Aspirant
----Valiant
-----Champion

======================================================

Getting Started
The Argent Tournament is located in northern Icecrown, east of The Shadow Vault, north of Sindragosa’s Fall. There are three major quest hubs/lines for the tournament that are covered in this guide. The first quest hub is centered around the building up of the arena that is currently under construction. To start, there are only 2 daily quests available to players. The second quest hub/chain follows the story of the mysterious Black Knight. This quest chain will take you all over the world but if you’re after champion’s seals then it is worth it to open up the only daily quest that rewards 2 seals a day. The last quest hub/chain involves participating in the tournament preparations and using the mounted combat system. You will first begin at the rank of Aspirant. Then you will work up to Valiant and then Champion. More information on all three quest hubs is found in their respective sections.

1. Speak with Jean Pierre Poulain at Krasus' Landing to secure a flight to the Argent Tournament. Once you've landed, grab your flight point.

2. Go to the Argent Pavilion on the western side of the tournament grounds. Speak with Justicar Mariel Trueheart to get the quests “The Argent Tournament” and “The Blastbolt Brothers”.

3. Turn in “The Blastbolt Brothers” to Beezle Blastbolt at the southern end of the tournament grounds.

4. Two Daily quests are now available to help build the Argent Tourney Arena. Skip to the Under Construction section.

5. Travel to the Alliance/Horde Pavilion located on the eastern end of the tournament grounds. Alliance are north, Horde are south.

6. Turn in “The Argent Tournament”.

7. You have now attained the rank of Aspirant in the Argent Tournament. You can now do the daily quests associated with that rank. Skip to the Aspirant section.

8. By becoming an Aspirant, you have also unlocked the Black Knight quest chain. Skip to the Black Knight section.

======================================================

Under Construction
It will take some time before the Argent Tournament Arena is built. In the meantime, the goblins in charge of the construction are in need of building materials. These daily quests do not affect your Argent Tournament ranking, nor do they give seals for rewards. They do give gold and will often be do-able alongside other daily quests that do affect your rank.

1. Speak with Beezle Blastbolt and get “Jack Me Some Lumber”.

2. Speak with Bozzle Blastbolt and get “A Chip Off The Ulduar Block”.

3. Directly north of the Violet Stand in Crystalsong Forest you will find The Great Tree. It is the only large tree in the area that hasn’t been crystallized. Surrounding the tree are smaller trees that you can use your axe on to collect lumber.

4. In the areas around the Engine of the Makers and the Inventor’s Library in Storm Peaks you will find large sparkling blocks of stone. Place your bomb near the block and run away. The closer you are to the bomb, the more damage you take. If you stand on top of the bomb, it kills you. After it’s exploded, collect the oh-so-perfectly-shaped stones.

5. Return to the Argent Tourney grounds to turn in your quests.

The Black Knight
The Black Knight is a suspicious fellow who wants to participate in the tournament. However, each of the opponents that the Black Knight was supposed to face in battle mysteriously dies before the combat was set to begin. The Argent Crusade suspects duplicity on the part of the Black Knight but they don’t have proof!

1. Speak with Crusader Rhydalla in the Argent Pavilion on the west side of the tournament grounds. Get the quest “The Black Knight of Westfall?” or “The Black Knight of Silverpine?”

2. If you are Horde, travel to Valgan's Field, northeast of the Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest. The book you need is in the southern house on the first floor.

3. If you are Alliance, travel to the Moonbrook in southern Westfall. The book you need is on the first floor of the only two story house that is not the Inn.

4. Return to the Argent Tournament grounds and turn in.

5. Get “The Seer’s Crystal”.

6. Travel to the pavilion icon on your map that is just north of Forlorn Woods in Crystalsong Forest. Kill Unbound Seers there until you loot the crystal you need.

7. Return to the Argent Tournament grounds to turn in.

8. Get “The Stories Dead Men Tell”.

9. Go to the Graveyard on the far eastern side of the tourney grounds and use your crystal on the three sparkles graves of the deceased knights. Once complete, go turn in.

10. Get “There’s Something About The Squire”.

11. Travel to the ruins southwest from the Forlorn Woods in Crystalsong Forest. Here you will find the Black Knight’s Squire. Kill Skeletal Woodcutters nearby until you loot a femur. Stand behind the squire and use the femur to ‘sap’ him. Loot him then return to the Argent Tourney grounds to turn in.

12. Get “The Black Knight’s Orders”.

13. The Black Knight’s Camp is on the eastern edge of the tournament grounds, just beyond the Alliance/Horde pavilions. Use the Enchanted Bridle on his gryphon and sit back to enjoy the ride.

14. Once you’ve landed, go up the path and enter the small house where you’ll find the two items you need to loot.

15. Return to the Argent Tourney grounds to turn in.

16. You will not be able to get the final quest until you have reached the rank of Champion in the Tournament.

17. Once you are a Champion, get “The Black Knight’s Fall”.

18. Go to the Champion’s ring and speak with Squire Cavin on the north side to summon and defeat the Black Knight. Turn in when complete.

======================================================

Aspirant
Congrats! You’ve made it to the easiest rank to get! This rank will have you do simple daily quests that involve the simple functions of the mounted combat system; fetching swords of awesome from all over Northrend; and ‘honing your skills’ by killing scourge in Icecrown. Each of these quests will reward you with Aspirant’s Seals. When you have 15 Aspirants Seals you can turn them in and gain the rank of Valiant.

1. Get “Mastery of Melee”, “Mastery of the Charge” and “Mastery of the Shield-Breaker”;.

2. Equip your lance and mount the Quel’Dorei Steed or the Sunreaver Hawkstrider.

3. Complete all three quests and turn in once complete.

4. You have now unlocked the Aspirant Rank Only dailies.

5. Get the quest “Up to the Challenge”. It will take you 3 days worth of Aspirant Daily quests to complete this and advance to Valiant Rank.

6. Speak with Arcanist Taelis/Magister Edien Sunhollow to get the random Sword Quest daily. You will be given one of three possible: “The Edge of Winter”, “A Worthy Weapon”, “A Blade Fit for a Champion”. Turn in when complete.

7. Get “Learning The Reins”. Equip your Lance, mount your Steed/Hawkstrider and go beat on the target dummies as you were taught in step 2. Turn in when complete.

8. Get “Training in the Field”. Almost all scourge in Icecrown will count for this quest. I recommend Sindragosa’s Fall or Scourgeholme for quick respawn and proximity to the Tourney grounds. Turn in when complete.

9. Repeat steps 6-8 until you have completed “Up to the Challenge”.

10. Get “The Aspirant’s Challenge(Alliance/Horde)”. Go to the Aspirants Ring on the northern side of the tourney grounds. Speak with Squire David to summon your opponent. Defeat him and go turn in your quest.

11. You are forced to represent your home city first so turn in to your city champion.

12. Get, complete and turn in “A Valiant Of <City>”.

13. You have now gained the rank of Valiant! You will no longer have access to the Aspirant daily quests. See the Valiant section.

Valiant
Congrats! You’ve made it to the rank of Valiant! This rank will have you do combative daily quests that go more in-depth in the mounted combat system; fetching swords of awesome from all over Northrend; and ‘honing your skills’ by killing scourge in Icecrown. Each of these quests will reward you with Valiant’s Seals. When you have 25 Valiant’s Seals you can turn them in and gain the rank of Champion.

1. You have now unlocked the Valiant Rank Only dailies for your City.

2. Get the quest “The Valiant’s Charge”. It will take you 5 days worth of Valiant Daily quests to complete this and advance to Champion Rank.

3. Speak with the Grand Champion of your City to get the random Sword Quest daily. These are exactly the same as the Aspirant Sword dailies. You will be given one of three possible: “The Edge of Winter”, “A Worthy Weapon”, “A Blade Fit for a Champion”. Turn in when complete.

4. Get “The Grand Melee”. Equip your lance, mount on your <City> Mount and go to the Alliance or Horde Valiant’s Ring in the northeast or southeast corners of the tourney grounds. Challenge the different City Valiants to battle and defeat three of them. Note that you must choose a different city each time because of the 1 hour debuff that prevents you from defeating the same city twice in a row in any reasonable amount of time.

5. Get “A Valiant’s Field Training”. Almost all scourge in Icecrown will count for this quest. I recommend Sindragosa’s Fall or Scourgeholme for quick respawn and proximity to the Tourney grounds. Turn in when complete.

6. Get “At The Enemy’s Gates”. Equip your Argent lance and travel to Corp’rethar: The Horror Gate. Just south of the gate you will find the Argent Crusade Forward Camp. Hop on one of the mounts and go due south towards Icecrown Citadel. Use your Shield Breaker to kill gargoyles. Run over any regular scourge skellies and use the usual tactic against your mounted opponents.

7. Repeat steps 3-6 until you have completed “The Valiant’s Charge”.

8. Get “The Valiant’s Challenge”. Equip your lance, mount your <City> Mount and go to the Argent Valiant’s Ring on the northwestern side of the tourney grounds. Speak with Squire Danny to summon your opponent. Defeat him and go turn in your quest.

9. Get “A Champion Rises”. Turn in at the Argent Pavilion on the western side of the tourney grounds.

10. You have now gained the rank of Champion! You will no longer have access to the Valiant daily quests for that particular <City>. See the Champion section.

11. You have also unlocked the ability to become a Valiant of a different City. Return to the Alliance/Horde Pavilion and complete “A Valiant Of <City>” of your choice. Completing this quest will unlock the Valiant Daily quests for that city but all other cities will be locked again until you become a Champion of your chosen city… again.

==================================================

Champion
Congrats! You’ve made it to the rank of Champion! You can now start earning Champion Seals for doing daily quests. You can use the Champion Seals as currency to purchase items from the Argent Tournament Vendors for each City. Daily quests for this rank including killing scourge, killing more scourge and defeating Champions of the other cities.

1. You can now do The Black Knight’s Fall quest from the Black Knight chain. If you haven't yet, complete it and turn it in now.

2. Get and go turn in “Eadric the Pure” or “The Scourgebane”.

3. Get “Threat From Above". Find a group then go find Chillmaw southwest from the Tournament grounds. The Bombers ride on his back so kill him and them then go turn in.

4. Get “Among The Champions”. Equip your lance, mount on the City’s mount whom you are a champion for. Go to the Ring of Champions on the southwest side of the tourney grounds. Challenge the different City Champions to battle and defeat four of them. As before, you must choose a different city each time because of the 1 hour debuff that prevents you from defeating the same city twice in a row in any reasonable amount of time.

5. Get “Taking Battle To The Enemy”. Almost all scourge in Icecrown will count for this quest. I recommend Sindragosa’s Fall or Scourgeholme for quick respawn and proximity to the Tourney grounds. Turn in when complete.

6. Get “Battle Before The Citadel”.

7. Another daily quest becomes available at the rank of Champion. If you wish, get and turn in “Contributin’ To The Cause”. This quest costs 10g and raises your Argent Crusade reputation if you’re not already exalted.

More mounts... 5 seals... yes please :)

Source : http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... 4793&sid=1

In an upcoming minor patch, faction mounts offered by vendors on the Argent Tournament grounds will have their visual appearances improved. You will find that the mounts being offered will better match the colors of the faction you chose to represent. Mounts already purchased at the Argent Tournament will automatically be replaced with the updated mounts when this patch goes live.

The ten mounts using the original tournament look will then be available for purchase from Argent Tournament vendors for 5 Champion’s Seals and 500 gold (faction discounts apply). To purchase these original mounts at the Argent Tournament, players must be either members of, or exalted with, the corresponding faction.

I don't think this was yesterday's patch, although I could be wrong as I haven't visited the Tournament since then.

Just an FYI, new mounts arent up yet.
Here's todays update now featuring Champion Seals :)

Argent Tournament Champion's Seals

The current plan is to add more ways to get champion seals in future patch. How many? Even we aren't sure at this time. Yes, it takes a lot of seals to collect everything, but we are okay with that as players will prioritize what they want to get so not everybody will have everything in one month and players who want everything will be able to get it all... eventually. BREAKING NEWS

In order to better balance the cost of new rewards that we would like to add to the Argent Tournament, we will be changing the cost of the Argent Hippogryph flying mount in the next minor patch. These mounts will be reduced in cost from 250 Champion’s Seals to 150 Champion’s Seals. Further details regarding additional new rewards will be provided in the future.

A display issue may occur with this change, causing the Argent Hippogryph to continue to display a cost of 250 Champion’s Seals. This display issue will be resolved in a future patch.

With the release of the Secrets of Ulduar, the Argent Tournament opened its doors to heroes from all over Azeroth and saw champions arise from the ranks to take on the challenges before them to prove their worth. In the next upcoming content patch, Call of the Crusade, the Argent Tournament will be expanding its influence and players will be able to experience all-new dailies, rewards, and areas of interest.

Two New Quest Hubs
A new Cult of the Damned camp now sits overlooking the Tournament grounds and spying on the activity below.

Located on an island north of Icecrown, the former tuskarr village known as Hrothgar's Landing is a mist-shrouded staging point for Sea Vrykul raids upon the ships of the Silver Covenant and the Sunreavers in the waters between the island and Icecrown.

New Dailies and Rewards
Just when you thought you had seen and done it all, the Argent Tournament throws out the gauntlet once more and adds a new line of quests and rewards for players who have become exalted with either the Silver Covenant or the Sunreavers. Earn seals by participating in three additional random dailies and earn brand-new rewards.

New Tabards: Alliance characters will be able to earn the Silver Covenant tabard and Horde characters will be able to earn the Sunreaver tabard currently seen being worn by NPCs on the grounds.
New Mounts: New ground and flying mounts will be available for both Horde and Alliance. Alliance will be able to purchase the new Quel'dorei Steed and Silver Covenant Hippogryph. Horde will be able to purchase the new Sunreaver Hawkstrider and Sunreaver Dragonhawk.
New Pet: A brand-new pet, the Shimmering Wyrmling, will be available to characters of both factions who distinguish themselves.

Argent Crusader Dailies and Rewards
A new line of dailies and rewards for players who have earned the title of Crusader will be available with two random seal-awarding dailies.

New Heirlooms
New Argent Crusade Banner
New Argent Crusade Tabard: Ports you directly to the Tournament grounds.
An Upgraded Squire: As any good squire should, this upgraded squire now has a mount.
New Mount: A new Argent Crusade paladin-only charger will be available.

The Black Knight Returns
Just when you thought you had seen the last of the Black Knight, he makes his astonishing return to Tournament. Wait, didn’t you kill him?

In the next major content patch, the construction of the Crusaders’ Coliseum on the Argent Tournament grounds will be complete, and it will hold new challenges for players. We’d like to share some details on the new dungeon, which represents the next tier of content for the game, but keep in mind that this is still in development and subject to change. The Crusaders’ Coliseum will include:

New epic 10- and 25-player raid dungeon with five encounters, with each encounter being unlocked one week at a time.

A more intuitive structure for harder encounters. This raid dungeon will have four different versions: 10-player, 25-player, 10-player Heroic, and 25-player Heroic, with each one using a separate lockout.

Introduction of the Crusaders’ Tribute! Each of the Heroic mode instances has a new tribute system that will limit players on the number of attempts they get in the Coliseum each week to present a greater challenge for the most battle-hardened heroes. Additional rewards can be earned depending on the number of attempts left in the tribute run each week when the final boss is defeated.

New 5-player dungeon with three encounters that will include Champion’s Seals as each one is defeated.

New tier of armor and weapons that are modeled with Alliance- or Horde-specific themes.
