@ Lealla Macro help, please.

Lealla, king of macros, i am too lazy, and uneducated in the ways of Macros and the language to know if this is possible, so i come to you.

In LK, or rather 3.0, I get a new ability that allows me to cast spells at reduced time, up to a free cast. What i want to know is, is there a way to write a macro for an "If.....then..." kinda thing?

For example, if a certain buff or proc is up can i have a certain spell cast, but if the buff isnt up, can i have a diff ability used, all by pushing the same button?

If this is something that you see as doable, lemme know and ill get more specifc with abilities and what not.

Thanks for any help you can give,

I don't think you can do that, since when they converted to the new macro system, they wanted to deter from that kind of macro building.

But you could have the same button do different things depending on what key you push. If you shift-click the macro, it could cast LB. But you'd still have to pay attention to what buffs get proc'd and then push the correct key combo.

Pax is correct: the specific type of thing you are asking about is impossible to accomplish with macros, or with addons while in combat. You cannot make spellcasting conditional on the presence or absence of buffs or debuffs (with the exception of stances/forms/shapeshifts).

As Kendalh suggested, you can cause the macro to cast different spells depending on modifier keys or mouse buttons, or in response to a variety of other legal conditions, such as being in combat or whether your target is friendly or hostile; alive or dead.

Code: Select all

/cast [mod:MODKEY] spell you want when proc is up; spell you want otherwise
It's the thought that counts, not how many people die because of it.
