The CharacterProfiler add-on is a great tool, for those that use it. Guild members can search through uploaded profiles for craftable items they need and find who makes them, examine the contents of the Guild bank, and compare gear with other members of their class. But to get the best benefit, everyone should upload their profile.
Doing so isn't difficult. If you've installed the CharacterProfiler add-on, all you have to do is play the game. Open your bank, open your bags, view the recipes you can make, open your quest log window, etc. As you open each section, the add-on will record what you have and what you can do. When you exit WoW, it will write a log of that data to your hard drive. You must then upload this data.
The UniUploader tool () can automate the upload process for you. If you download and install it, it will leave a shortcut on your desktop. Run this program ("UniUploader") after you exit WoW and it will ask you for some config information. Choose your WoW account name from the drop-down, then enter the following URL in the "URL" box:
Finally, click Upload.
If you don't want to use UniUploader, you can upload the data file you need manually. Once you quit WoW, go to the update.php URL above, then click on the "Browse" button next to "CharacterProfile.lua". Choose your World of Warcraft install folder, then "WTF", then "Account", then your account name, then "SavedVariables", and finally "CharacterProfiler.lua". Click "Upload", and you're all done.
Your PVP statistics may also be uploaded in a similar fashion. Only the data file's name is different.
If you are a new Guild member, please wait a day or two before uploading - the Guild officers do periodic updates of information for the whole Guild, and your name needs to be added to the roster before you can update. You'll know if you are ready to go by checking the Roster page. If your name appears, you can upload your data any time.
Please note that the roster is customizable and if there are certain sections of your profile that you would like to not be visible, such as your bank or mailbox etc. please let me know and I will change those settinngs
