NTLDR?

Post by Arlan » Fri Mar 27, 2009 5:59 pm

Today when I booted up my computer all I get is a black screen that says "NTLDR Missing". Can I fix this or is it time for a reinstall?

Repairing from my windows disk fixed it. Never seen that error before, odd as I run virus protection and rarely have any problems.

The last computer I fixed with this error had a bad memory stick. Try pulling them out and testing one by one. If that doesn't work, it could be something way worse.

i had that issue one time. iw ent from one hard drive, to 2. the computer was looking on the wrong hard drive for the ntldr, which is some kind of boot directory or something.

it is not a virus, it is windows misplacing a critical boot function, or you inadvertently "hiding" it from windows
